Are Israel’s 2019 elections a revealing local case of global
populist trends? Two experts on Israeli politics and
policy, Dr. Liron Lavi and Dr. Shaiel Ben-Ephraim, will
discuss this question. Dr. Lavi will present on the rise and
divergence of the Right, and its contemporary and future
implications for the political map in Israel. Dr. Ben-
Ephraim will discuss the potential annexation of the
occupied territories, and the influence of Trump’s policy
on the Israeli political arena.
Dr. Liron Lavi is a Research Fellow at the Y&S Nazarian
Center for Israel Studies.
Dr. Shaiel Ben-Ephraim has served as a Postdoctoral
Fellow at the Y&S Nazarian Center for the 2017-2018 and
2018-19 academic years.
